The PCLinuxOS is a free and easy to use linux distribution for home. PCLinuxOS was founded by Texstar, and is headquartered in Houston, Tx. It was originally based on another distribution under the name of Mandriva and shares many features of Mandriva such as the Control Center and the Draklive Installer.
PCLinuxOS uses the Advanced Packaging Tool (APT) which was developed for the Debian Linux distribution, and Synaptic - GUI frontend to APT.
